Christopher A. Combs
Chris founded Combs Law Group, P.C. more than 25 years ago. Chris is a well-known expert in real estate law who has represented investors, property owners, brokers and REALTORS® that seek his advice and expertise in real estate law. Chris’s extensive experience with real estate transactions and disputes includes purchase contracts, title insurance, deed restrictions, landlord-tenant, easements, partition actions, foreclosures, and homeowners associations. As a real estate specialist and experienced trial attorney with more than 25 jury trials, Chris has established a stellar track record representing clients in both commercial and residential real estate transactions and disputes.
Chris is widely recognized as the leading authority in Arizona real estate law and is frequently requested to speak about real estate law throughout Arizona. Chris is also a licensed real estate broker. Chris uses his vast legal and real estate experience in a weekly Sunday column that he writes for the Arizona Republic, where he provides guidance on common real estate questions.
Chris represented the Arizona Association of REALTORS® (“AAR”) in forming and managing the AAR Legal Hotline program, which Combs Law Group operated for more than 24 years. Chris also drafted the original 1993 AAR Residential Resale Purchase Contract and many other AAR residential and commercial standard forms.
Chris was born in Windsor, England, and lived in Germany and the Philippines before graduating from Arizona State University (Bachelor of Science, cum laude), and the University of Arizona Law School (Member, Law Review). Prior to founding Combs Law Group, Chris was a Captain in the Judge Advocate Division of the U.S. Marine Corps, and an attorney with the Chief Counsel’s Office, Department of Treasury, Washington, D.C.
Chris is a former member of the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league baseball organization, and was also selected to the U.S.M.C. All-Marine basketball team.
